FLOUTED COURT DELIBERATELY.

MOTOR CYCLIST DISQUALIFIED FOR FIVE YEARS. CHRISTCHURCH, March 26. “The Couit has made an. order ami you have deliberately flouted it. You are fined £lO, and are disqualified fro a; obtaining a motor driver’s license foi a. term of five years. You will be allowed fourteen days in which to pay. though you don’t deserve it. ” These remarks were made by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., to John Hudson Falcon in the Magistrate Court. Falcon was charged with having ridden a mo-tor-cycle on March 19 when not in possession of a license. ' Senior-Sergeant Martin * stated that the young man’s license had been cancelled by the Court recently, and in face of that he had continued to ride. It was plain defiance, and nothing else. Two of the traffic inspectors had said that the machine was not safe. The controls were faulty. For Falcon, Mr Connal said that hi.s ' client lived at North Beach, and as he had to be it work at 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. on some days of the week, the tram service was of no use to him He had an injured knee which made difficult the riding of an ordinary push bicycle. For the sake of the youth’s mother, who had paid most of the previous fine, counsel asked fcr leniency.
