South match and ' contended that it was time this game was played in Palmerston North and ' he moved that the secretary and delegates make every endeavour to bring this about for the coming year. Mr. 'Robinson approved of the suggestion and seconded the. 'motion which was carried. Proposed Representative Games. The secretary reported that Mr. MjeKenzic had spoken to him regarding an annual n>atch with Wairarapa and suggested that this match be kept in view. It was the opinion of Mr. Eglinton that the Union should draw up a tern- - porary itinerary to be submitted at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Union. He explained that Wanganui, Taranaki and Wairarapa were to play in Palmerston North this year while Canterbury. South Canterbury and Otago, who all-owed Manawhenua return matches, were going on tour. Manawatu had to play Hawke's Bay and Wellington away from home. Mr. O'Conor considered that Hawke's Bay should be the principal " aim of the Union and it was decided that the Hawke's Bay Union be written to, asking for a game early in the season as a return match. Several members favoured a tour north and it was decided to write to the Auckland, South Auckland and King Country Unions asking them if they were favourable to such a tour. The secretary was instructed to write to the South Island Unions with the view to arranging home games against Manawhenua. naki and Wairarapa Unions, asking them when they propose to play tho return matches with Manawhenua. Insurance Matters. The question of insuranco waa raised by the chairman who explained this matter had been left to the Dis- | Met Councils in the past and it was for this meeting to decide what course would be. adopted for the coming season. Mr. Eglinton stated that the Horo- , whenua Council apparently had a better scheme, for it did not pay out more money tnan it received while tho Manawatu Council paid out more than was received. Mr. J. Casey explained that the Horowhenua Council's scheme wag -practically identical with the Manawatu scheme except that the limit was £6 instead of Manawatu's €lO. The clubs wore compelled to pay the inwirance fee to the Hbrowheniia Council while in Manawatu every player was compelled to bo insured. The secretary remarked that m Auckland the Union had no scheme,
the players being allowed to Insure .homselvcs with the various companies. Mr. Eglinton: “I can’t see how & scheme can be formulated for thirty players." Mr. Crawford suggested that the Union subsidise the amount paid out ly the Councils to the combined players. Mr. Colquhoun moved that the mat* er be referred to the management ’.ommittee with the suggestion that it make 'enquiries as to whether insurmce companies would take out a oolicy to cover twenty players from he combined councils. Mr. Bobson seconded the motion vhich was carried. The Official Pass. It wag reported that the Manawatu Council had decided to have only two ickets —one for players and another >■» cover officials and season holders <nd the council thought that the mater of issuing them be left to the Union and that the two district coun•ils pay the cost of the printing. Mr. 'Bardie stated that there were i dozen different tickets handed in at he Hawke’s Bay match. It was finally decided that the Tnion issue one ticket and mark it reason, official or player’s pass as retired and that the matter be left to 'he secretary and Mr. Hardie. General. Relative to the combined team colours, Mr. Hardie reported that a jersey, coloured in red. "white and blue hoops, had been promised for the meeting but it had not arrived.—No (Ction was taken in the matter. Mr. Casey’s notice of motion that ‘he words "provided that no alteration •n the district boundaries can be made without the consent of the district affected" be added to Rule 4, was agreed to.
