£IOOO FOR TWINS.
MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME WAS LUCKLONDON, March 15. Mr Dumbreck, of Tunbridge Wells, insured for £IOOO against the arrival of twins. The twins have just arrived. Mis Dumbreck's maiden name was Luck;. "It was just an inspiration," said Mr Dumbreck yesterday. "I did not want the event to happen, so I ensured against it. I thought of insuring for £SOO, but Mr Luck, my father-in-law, offered to pay the prjmium on a £IOOO policy, so £IOOO it was. "The premium was three per cent., and the policy was against a risk of the arival of 'two or more' babies. Thtre were two conditions —that the children must be born within six weeks of a certain date, and that two or more must live for twenty-four hours. '' Inquiries were made about previous births of twins in my family —one pair can be traced among my father's relatives. The underwriters were sporting enough to congratulate me when they acknowledged my claim."
