INCREASE IN EXPORTS.
IMPORTS REDUCED. FIGURES,FOR PAST TWO MONTHS "Whereas the trade figures for the 12 months ended December 31, 1926, shoved an excess of imports of £4,613,988. these for the first two njjonths of the current year indicate a "distinct improvement as compared with the corresponding period of last year. The imports for February, 1927. amounted to £3,292,610, and the exports to £5,015,451, leaving an excess of exports for the month of £1,722,842 as compared with only £40,856 for February, 1926. The imports for the two months ended February 28, 1927, totalled £7,303,670, and the exports for the same per iod were £10,220,591, giving.an excess of exports of £2,916,921, as compared •with £418,021, for the corresponding period of last year. The imports during February, 192/ showed a decrease of £997,821, as com pared with February, 1926. For the two months ended February 28, 1927, the imports were "down" by £1,647,577, compared with the corresponding. period of last year. The exports foi February, 1927, showed an increase ox £684,164, compared with the corresponding month of last year,. For the two months ended February 28 1927, the exports increased by £851,323. compared with the corresponding period of last year.
