BOWLING.

A gala night was held on the local green on Wednesday night, when 20 members took part in a progressive pairs tourney. Five games of seven heads were played when rain stopped play. Mr J. T. Bovis won the trophy for leads by winning 4 i games, Messrs B. Spencer, H. Butt and A. "Morgan tied for the skips trophy with four wins. Two players are to be selected to represent Shannon in the champion of champions tourney being held by the Manawatu Centre at Palmerston North I on Saturday.
