A meeting of the Management Committee of the Ma'naAvatu-Horowhenua Rugby-Union Avas held in "the Concert Chamber, LeA'in. last evening, when several matters of business connected with the Avinding-up of last season and the inauguration of the new season were dealt with. Notification was received that the annual meeting of the NeAV Zealand Rugby Union would be .held in Wellington on May sth. i The annual meeting of the Mauawatu- • HoroAvhenua Union was fixed for March 25th, at Palmerston. Mr J. B'Proud forwarded his resignation as secretary of the Union, oaving to his having removed to Wauganui. In writing to the Union, he hoped, that he would be able to visit Palmerston during the coming season. He conveyed to all the members his sincere thanks for the assistance given and kindness shoAvn to him during his term of office and he trusted that the Union would again have a prosperous season. The resignation Avas accepted with regret, and it AA r as decided to send a letter of thanks to Mr Proud for his past services. .a: ; i; ' : It was also resolved, "That this committee approves of a paid man being appointed secretary of the Union." The provisional balance-sheet, which is subject to audit, sho\A'cd a eredit balance of £221. Mr Hardie AA'as requested to communicate with a Wellington firm Avith reference to suitable colours for jerseys for ManaAvhenua representatives in the coming ssason.
