LIVING WITH DEAD MAN

LONDON FLAT RIDDLE Police visited a threcroomed flat 45a Oakmead Road, Balham, London and found the dead body of an elderly man, who had apparently been dead at least a month, in bed in one oi tho rooms. The dead man, Mr. Alexander Fraser, who with his sister, Miss Fraser, had occupied the flat for about 20 years. The police were met by the sister, who is said to have been incoherent in her replies to their questions. They removed the body in a coffin, but in the evening the coffin was taken back, and, with the sister still inside the house, a policeman was put on duty in the hall and two more were stationed outside. Tho police visited the house at a result of a telephone call the next morning. The landlord, who had been calling regularly every week to collect the rent, was unable to obtain any replies to his knocks. Tho sister had been seen out shopping, but nothing had been seen of the man for several months. Both were regarded by the neighbours as being very eccentric. Mrs. Petrie, who lives with her daughter, Mrs. Green, at 45 Oakmead Road, the flat beneath that' of tho Frasers, told a reporter that the woman they knew as Miss Fraser was usually up before six o'clock in the morning, dusting her mats and cleaning the brass, but for a month her early-morning activities had ceased.
