RECORD DAIRY SEASON
PRODUCTION IN AUCKLAND
PROVINCE,
Dairy production in the Auckland Province this season continues to eclipse all previous records. The butter received in store by the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company since the beginning of July totals 1.193,076 boxes, an increase over the corresponding period of last season of 157,179 boxes, or 15 per cent. Compared with the previous record in 1924-25 J "the current season is 64,000 boxes ahead, an increase of almost 6 per cent. The production for the past month was 246,152 boxes, against 203,927 in the previous January, an increase of 42,225 boxes or 20 per cent. Compared with two years ago. however, the increase is only about 2000 or less than one per cent The output of cheese is also exceeding previous records. In the last seven months the production was 105,689 crates, against 98,434 in the previous season, an increase of 7,255 crates, of 7h per cent. The result is even better in comparison with the first seven months of the 1924-25 season. During January, cheese received at the grading stores totalled 22,985 crates, compared with 21.881 in January, 1926, an increase ofl,104 crates, or 5 per cent.
Reduced to pounds of butter-fat the dairy output this season totals GO, 644,2631 b., against 52,967.2861 b. lost year, an increase of 7,676,9771 b., o r 14 1 per cent.
