WEDDING.

DEAN—SILVESTER. JA pretty wedding of considerable local interest was solemnised at Knox Church, Masterton, on Saturday evening, January 22nd, when Miss Alice Septima Silvester, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs S. Silvester, of Colombo road, was married to Mr James R. Dean, of Dannevirke. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a becoming frock of ivory marionette, trimmed with silver lace, and a garniture of orange blossom fell from the shoulder. She also wore silver shoes. Her beautiful Honiton lace veil was effectively arranged over a coronet of orange blossoms, and formed a train, and she carried a pretty bouquet of white roses and carnations. The bridesmaids were Miss Ncnie Malmo (chief), Miss Marjorie Silvester, Miss Edna Andrews, and Miss Lena Mason, all wearing gold crepe de chine petal frocks over gold lace, with eoro nets of gold leaves and berries, and shoes to match. Two little girls, Jean Mason and Ivy Harrington, were flower girls, also wearing petal frocks of peach crepe de chine and cream lace, with head-bands of gold leaves. They also carried pretty bouquets to tone, and wore gold armlets, gifts of the bridegroom. Mr O. Jansen acted as best man, and Mr C. Dean and Mr 11. Silvester as groomsmen.. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Davie. Mr Glen played the wedding inarch. A reception was afterwards held in the Municipal Hall, which had been prettily decorated by friends of the bride, over a hundred guests being present. Dancing w r as indulged in until midnight. Mrs Silvester, mother of the bride, received hef guests in a frock of flame crepe de chine, trimmed with fawn and fawn crinoline hat. Her bouquet was of flame shaded flowers.. The bridegroom’s mbther wore a frock of navy blue, with hat to match, and bouquet of purple pansies Both grandmothers of the bride were present.

Among, the many beautiful presents received was a dinner service from Allen and Co., the bridegroom being a member of the staff, and a tea-set from the staff.

The happy couple left later by car for the south, the bride travelling in a model ensemble suit of cyclamen crepe de chine, with panel of figured georgette with hat and shoes to tone.
