There is weeping and wax'.in g and gnashing of teeth airong -.nany busine s men in Wanganui, to an ultimatum that they will not in future be admitted to Katana pa (says a correspondent of the Chris'tehureh Star). All this has been brought about through the police being so unkind as to bring a prosecution against Katana recently. No one but those intimately connected with the pa knows the loss this will mean to the business men of Wanganui. Ginger pop, Boston ice cream dors, grocers, etc., lined up as usual at the main gate of the pah the other morning, and were informed that in future there would be no admittance, and it was a sorrowful procession that wended its way back to Wanganui. The loss Wanganui has sustained will mean* a material gain to tradesmen in Marton and Palmerston North, in which direction the trade has now been switched.
