HIGH SCHOOL DESTROYED
INCENDIARISM SUSPECTED. WHAKATANE, January 10. The niain building of the Whakatane District High School was totally destroyed by fire at two o ’clock this morning. The fire had a good hold before the Brigade arrived, and blazed furiously for a considerable time, lighting up most of the town. The origin is a mystery, but incendiarism is suspected. The portable classrooms near by were saved by the Brigade’s efforts.
