ENTRIES CLOSE TO-DAY. Entries for the 21st .annual show of the Horowhenua A. and P. Association close With the secretary (Mr E. R. .Bry- ; ant), P.O. Box 32, Levin, at 5 p.m. tov day. Entries for the Dog Show close on Saturday next, at the same hour. , The' competitions will provide much to interest the public at the forthcoming, show. On the first day they include the pony jniiip, maiden trotting race, horse walking competition, maiden hunters’ competition, and two motor car events. There will also be a sheep dog trial bn the first day. The second day’s comprise open steeplechase jumping, two pony races, open hunters’ competition, fanners’ trotting race, apple race (on horseback), ntusical'chairs (horseback), bareback jumping, motor car driving, motor car potato race, and motor lorry driving. Guessing competitions will be held, for judging the weight of a fat bullock, one sheep, and three sheep, respectively. The cash prizes offered by the Association total £SOO, and there arc cups and trophies valued at £175. The usual „grand parade of stock will be * held People’s Day.
