NIGHT CLUB ROMANCE

SENTENCED TO FUTURE HAPPI-

NESS. "BUTTERFLY” REFORMED BY MARRIED MAN. An amazing love romance had a dramatic sequel at the Old Bailey. The chief characters in it were a young man named Taylor, of Islington, and a girl whom he had befriended after meeting her casually in the West End of London. At that time she was leading a butterfly existence, frequenting night clubs and mixing with men and women of the worst type. fell in love with her, and took her away from her undesirable associates. He had the satisfaction of seeing her forsake the life she had been leading. He was a married man, but had separated from his wife. . Then he heard of his wife’s death and he married the girl. The course of true love was broken by the news that his wife was alive at the time of the second wedding, but had since died. This worried Taylor so much that he gave himself up to the police, to whom he explained the facts of Ills second marriage. The girl wife appeared at the Old Bailey and tolld the Recorder (Sit Ernest Wild, K.C.) that she was quite willing to marry Taylor, and be a mother to his two young children. Taylor said he was most anxious t( marry the girl. A detective paid a tribute to Taylor for the way he had behaved to the girl, and said that as a result she was now completely reformed. During the war, he added, Taylor, though only a boy of 14, gave his age as 19 in order to get into the Army. "I will not do anything to delay your marriage," said the Recorder to Taylor, in passing a nominal sentence which mearit immediate release, and added: "I hope you will both be happy in the future."
