BOWLING AT SHANNON.

The final of the progressive pairs tournament for the Sih’er Gups donated by Mr W. H. Gunning to the skip and lead, Avi nners of the most games, Avas played on Wednesday, afternoon on the Shannon Green. The game to decide the winners was between Oliver aud H. Butt (skip), and Roid and Mason (skip). After a most interesting and keenly fought contest, Oliver and Butt came out winners by 20 to 16. The cups Avere then presented by the donor, both re eipients returning thanks. To-day a rink consisting of E. J. S. .Spencer, IL Butt, J. Roach and T. Shannon, Avill leave for Auckland, Avhere the/ will take part in the Dominion tourney which commences on Monday. They will take Avith them the best Avishes of local boAvlers for a successful and enjoyable time.
