A progressive pairs tournaiv-ei.t ivas played on the local green on Monday for the two silver cups donated by Mr 'W. H. Gunning, to be awnrd-.'d to the lead and skip wiiuiei.-i of the most games. Play v. as spoiled by intermittent ahowers which fell during the afternoon, necessitating the finals being postponed until to-morrow afternoon. The play off will be between Messrs lieid and Mason (skip) and Messrs Oliver and M. Butt (skip). Ihe Shannon rink, skipped by Mr J. Gagliardi, which is competing at the Manawatu Tourney, being held at Palmerston North, up to last evening had played six games for a similar number of losses.
