FASHIONABLE FANCIES
Long-sleeved frocks of lace with lace coats for intelligent parties are a smart fad. A frock with long, tight sleeves and a slim gkirt, had a sleeveless coat matching beige lace and a pleated collar, which extended in long panels to the hem of the coat. A beige chiffon belt, intermingled with fuchsia velvet, held it in place, and gave it a slightly pouched effect. Applications of velvet in cut-put patterns are an important feature In the new trimmings. Almost invariably they are arranged wih metal thread, either found outlining the silhouette or eccetuating the material employed. Applications which combine gold lace are quaintly worked in imitation of antique design. Gold kid or leather may also be used. Large motifs are seen across the front of a frock in girdle fashion. ' A great deal of ribbon trimming jis found in the new models. Plain j ribbon is used shirred, but there are . varigated designs, arid chiffon ribbons j, about half an Inch in width, which are finished with an edging of gold or silver tinsel thread.
