WHAT IS LUCK?
Is there such a thing as luck, or not? Do some people succeed, make money, marry happily, keep well, simply by hard w;ork 'and ability, or are they just “born lubky?” Can one learn to be lucky? Is bad luck one’s own fault? Wei, there is as yet no sure and certain answer to any of thosequestions. But more and more scientists and others are beginning to believe that “luck” does exist.. That every 6ne of us attracts good fortune or pad fortune according to our thoughts. In other words that w 6 gret what we expect. Have you heard the true story of the man who lived ini a house at the bottom of a "hill? It was a dark, damp house, and as long as he, lived there he had no good luck at all. s He made inquiries and found that the people who had lived in it prior to him had had exactly the same fate. < When he heard that he sold up and went to live at the top of the hill. And all at once everything came all right. You see, while he had lived in the dark, damp house his thoughts had been dark and depressing. He had begun to expect everything to go wrong, and sure enough it had done so. But on the hill, Where it was "Bright and jolly, he had thought: "Now things will change.” And so they did. After all, we nearly all get what we expect from life.
