TENNIS NOTES.
i . The return match, Mangaore v. Shanj'non, is to be played on the Shannon courts on Saturday next (to-morrow). Play will commence at 2 p.m. and the Mangaore ladies will provide the refreshments. No. 4 court will be left open for general play. The following team has been selected:—Mrs Pope, Mrs Harding, Miss Curran, Miss Butler, Miss A. Aim, Miss V. Aim, S. Jones, P. Murray, C. Cronquest, G. Pranks, H. Curran, H. Pope. Doubles and Combines are to be played in similar order, that is, 1 and 2. 3 and 4, etc. As Christmas is drawing near, the doll competition' which was not completed last year, is being carried onagain. Mesdames McGucken and Whibley take charge of the afternoon tea next Wednesday, after which there will be two weeks left open, when members present can make their own arrange ments. On January 12th the list will i be carried on again. The newly-formed Manawatu AssoI ciatibn his arranged for a match to «be playedj between Shannon and Long- | bum. It is expected this will be played some time'near the end of January, , if possible.
