BOWLING NOTES.
SHANNON LOSES DIXON CUP.
On the Shannon green on Saturday afternoon the Dixon Cup holders, C. Butt, A; T. White, J. Gogliardi and I. Whibley (skip) unsuccessfully defended a challenge Morn a rink from the Palmerston Club, consisting of A. Kerslake, Tattersall, C. D. Fraser and N. 11. Nash (akip). The holders began badly and early in the game were ten down. As the game proceeded they held their own, reducing their opponents' lead by three. The final score, after a game full of interest, was 21 to 14. A gala day will be held at Foxton on Wednesday when - two rinks from Shannon will compete. A Terrace End rink has challenged the holders of the Manson and BanCup. The game will be played on the Shannon greeu on Saturday. On Saturday a number of rinks from the Shannon Club will journey to Le- i vin to take part iii the inter-club games to be played there. | The following teams have been drawn j in the Championship rinks, the first | stage of which will be played on Wed- j nesday evening:— Moynihan, McLachlan, Bovis, Knowles" (skip) v.
