v 8* “SANDY.” “Sandy,” the story of a flapper bride, which has been running serially in more than 100 newspapers, hap been converted into a motion picture by Fox Films and will be shown .tomorrow at the Maoriland Theatre. ■ Fox Films made a careful search for an actress, to bring to the screen the vivid personality of Sandy McNeil, the beautiful young girl of nineteen who is the heroine of the story. Madge Bellamy was finally selected. Sandy is the modern young woman aquiver’ with the love of life and impatient with hampering rules of conduct. In the motion picture version produc- > ed by Fdx, advantage was taken of wide variety of thrilling episodes to bring to the sereen the most colourful picture of the 1926 girl, her ideas of life and all the complexities of the modern social order. “SIX SHOOTIN’ ROMANCE.” The cowboys of Travis Ranch learn that their new owner, D. Travis, is to arrive the next day and they plan to give him a rousing welcome. With the consent of their foreman, “Lightning” Jack Hardy and the driver of the stage, they plan to “hold up” the stage. At the right time Hardy is to appear and effect the rescue. The stage arrives. The “hold up” takes place and young Travis is having a hard time of it wheu Hardy arrives and does Ms “rescue” act. It is discovered that D. Travis is Donakleen Travis, a girl, wearing men’s clothes, She discovers the trick, ik angry and discharges all the help only to learn that Hardy is her guardian and alone has the right to lure and fire. Her linger at Hardy grows and she listens • to the romantic talk Currier King, a nearby rancher, suspected of cattle rustling. The pace of the action quickens and it ends in a thrilling fight in midair. The story is “A Six Shootin* Romance,” a Universal-Blue Streak Western to be shown in the Maoriland
