WEDDING BELLS.

ROBERTS—SWINDLEHURST. A wedding of unusual interest was solemnised in the Methodist Church on Wednesday evening, the church being packed to ‘ overflowing with guests, when Electra, the second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Swindlehurst,' of BuckIcy, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with William Henry, the eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. H. Roberts, of Mangaore, the nuptial knot * being tied by the Rev. Peryman. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very charming in a frock of white satin with flared lace overdress, with shoes and stockings to match, and . wearing the orthodox veil and orange blosnqpis, She carried a beautiful shower bouquet. She was attended by her sisters, the Misses Elsie and Evelyn Swindlehurst, as bridesmaids, the former wearing a frock of' coral pink crepe-de-chine, the latter being attired in a frock of pale pink crepe de chine, both wearing shoes and stockings to match and .silver hair bands. Little 1 Alexa Sinclair, niece of the bride, acting as flowe. girl, she being dressed in mauve embroidered ninon. Mr Jas. Roberts, brother of the bridegroom officiated as best man and Mr H. Meyerseroft, 'of Wellington, was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Druids’ Hall where fhe usual toasts were honoured, over 100 guests being •present. The happy couple were the recipients of • many valuable and useful presents. Later in the evening they left for Wanganui, where the- honeymoon will be spent. The bride’s travelling costume was an ensemble suit of cyclamen repp., with hat and shoes en suite. Mr and Mrs Roberts ’ future home will be ir. Napier.
