On Monday last the holders of the Bennett' Buttons, Mesdames Kirk (4) and Hall (7), in the presence of a good number of spectators defeated the challengers, Mesdames Mayes (4) and Bennett (8), avlio represented the Northern Club (Palmerston North), by 26 to IS. A uuitcii.was played yesterday on the local green for the Pollock Stars, between Mesdames Kirk and Nicholson (Levin) and Mesdames McLachlin and -Cranks, (Shannon.) resulting in a win for the Levin representatives by 26 to 3.
