VEN. BEDE'S BAZAAR AND SALE OF WORK.

The Bazaar and Sale of Work organised by the Ladies’ Guild of' Yen. Bede’s to raise funds for the church, was held in the Druids’ Hall on Friday and Saturday, end notwithstanding the stringency of the money market and counter attractions during the week, the receipts wove quite up to expectations. The attendance on Friday, both afternoon and evening was small, but the takings on Saturday, made up the deficiency. Archdeacon Johnson, of Wellington, was present on Friday afternoon , and performed the opening ceremony. The committee had gone to a lot of trouble in erecting and stocking the various stalls. They were nicely arranged and patrons had a wide range of tempting and useful articles from which to make their purchases. A laigc number of the articles offered were the results of weeks of labour by members of the Guild, who had put in a lot of work preparing articles for the bazaar. Under the lupervision of Rev. Mr Faroe]! a number of competitions were conducted and these were responsible for bringing in quite a lot of revenue. ■The committee are to be complimented on their effort and the satisfactory way in which the bazaar was conducted. \ THE STALLHOLDERS.
