The! strengthening of the foundation course is now completed and the crushing plant has been shifted to Te Horo pit Otaki—Manakau Section. —A start was made during the month Avith formation'work on this section, aVI good progress has beem made Manakau Bridge—Levin Section.— This 'section is still standing well. Several attempts have been mad£ during the last'' month to commence sealing operations, but on each occasion rain has fallen and stopped work. The surface of the portion already sealed has gjreatly impro/ed .during 1 the recent Avarm Aveather. No. 60 Highway. Levin—Potts Creek Section.—Formation work on this section is now completed 'and the strcngthejning of foundation comse is being carried .out in a satisfactory manner. Shannon—Makerua Section.— The survey of this section is completed and the plans, etc., for same are Avell in hand, and it is hoped to send these forward for approval at an early date. Makerua —Tokomaru Section.—. Good progress is being made with the engineering survey of this section. The maw bitumen heater with 16-inch Avi le Avheels, arrived during the period.
