From Mrs E. J. Also vehicles are left parked by her entrance for some considerable time. Upon speaking to the various owners of vehicles to move them over to the side of the road,.she only gets abuse. She considered' the Council should erect a board requesting cars to pull up on the left hand side of the soad, and thus allow entrance to her property. She trusted the request would receive the Council's rjrompt attention. —Eeferred to Engineer and Cr. Barber with power to act. Makerua Road Drain. From Mr T. The Clerk ef the Levin Borpugh Council wrote as follows: When the members for the Wirokinc Riding of the* County met the members of the Council with refeieiice to.th"proposed work on Make Make road, the County members asked that the Borough might consider doing something to the water race which flows through the propertics of Messrs G. Sievers and P. o'Donnell, in Bartholomew road. Between •Bartholomew and Queenswood roads this race follows a very enatic cour;-;.\ which considerably retards the rluw. The members of the Streets Committee have inspected this portion of the race and met Messrs A. Rose and P. A. Ander- \ son, whose ].;operties are affected, j Those gentlemen are willing to co-oper- ■ ate-with the Borough towards running

the race in/a straight line-between'the two roads mentioned. But to be effective, a short portion of the race in Mr O'Donnell's property must be cut. out so as to give a straight run right through aloiy the southern boundaries of sections i and 13, Block 59. To do this, the Council would be pleased if you would obtain Mr P. o'Donnell's sanction to take the race- out of his property at a point opposite the southern boundary. Failing this,' it will be useless proceeding with the stiaightening of the balance of the race as the acute angle at. Bartholomew road will bank up the water, and so render the balance of the improvements ineffective. He also asked that in wet weather the supply'to the water races be exit off at the intake. If the Council accedes to this latter request, it would prevent a lot of flooding in the lowlying areas in ; the Borough. —Referred to the councillors for the Riding. . Lindsay Road. v From F. H. Best, pointing out that owing to tlu continuous wet weather, that part of Lindsay road lying to the west of its intersection by the Kawiu road extension* which forms .the only access to property, has become practically impassable, and he asked if the Council /ould do something in the way of metalling. If the Council will provide and cart the metal he would put a man, on to spread same.—The councillors of the Riding to attend to this matter, f An ( hau Complaint. From A. S. and R. Bishop, requesting that the Engineers' attention be drawn to the serious state of affairs at the gateway to their property at Ohau railway station, caused by the drainage fix in Muhuiuja East, which; used to run under the subway/being diverted. —Left to Crs\' McLeavey, Catley and the Engineer to make ar. inspection. Catle\ McLeaviy and Kilsby (Wirokino) reported as follows on matters referred to them:' — Tararua Road. —We authorised the Engineer to spend £SO on this road by way of repairs. Ohau East Road Extension.—We visited this, locality with the Engineer and met Mr Saint. We find it a most 'difficult-matter to deal with on account of the difficult nature of the present road line as laid off. A much better route could be got if arrangements could be made in acquiring the necessary land for same, which belongs to the natives.
