MAIDEN HAIR FERNS.
Ferns are at a stage when they need very careful attention, particularly the maiden-hair varieties. It is .when they are commencing to throw 'up their young fronds that careful watching is necessary to protect them from Jhe ravages of small slugs. Green aphis, too, are often troublesome at. this stage of their growth. As soon as they make their appearance spray the plants with insecticide or fumigate the house.
