AN ENJOYABLE ENTERTAINMENT
A good house greeted the prformers at the concert held in the Parish Hall on Tuesday evening in aid of the Methodist Church funds. As anticipated the concert proved most enjoyable. A concert party of six members under the direction of Mr H. T. Pitcher, gave a delightful entertainment. Misses KilHck and Common were the lady soloists, both being in excellent voice, having to respond to encores. Mr Pitcher in his solo and duets with Miss Killick acquitted himself well. Miss D. Ferguson, the elocutionist of the party, was well received as was also Mr F. Marchant, whose work as a ventriloquist, was much appreciated. The other member of the party was Miss Flatt, who proved to be a most efficient accompanist. In addition to the Palmerston North pari.y, instrumental, vocal and. elocutionary items were contributed by Misses Aim and Cridland, Mealaines Bovis and Bishop and Mr Howard Andrew, all of whom added much to -the success of the concert. In the absence of Eev. Mr Perymau, on account of the flood, Mr Howard Andrew made an efficient chairman. In thanking the visiting performers for their assistance, he expressed the hope that they would visit Shannon again at an early date'. At the conclusion of tho entertainment, supper was served to the performers by the members of the Ladies' Guild, Mr Pitcher thanking the ladies for their hospitality.
