! l » ' A. FIRST CLASS PROGRAMME. I ■ Something special in the Avay of concerts has been arranged for by the committee of the Methodist Church, who on Tuesday evening next at the Parish Hall, Avill submit a concert, programme of exceptional merit to, the public of Shannon and district, which should draAV a bumper house. Among those Avho will contribute items to the programme are the following members of the Palmerston North concert party: Miss Kiliick (soprano), a gold medallist at the Palmerston North competitions; Miss Common (contralto), who has a good quality voice, Mr Houston, one of Palmerston North’s leading basses, and Avho is also a fine humorist; Mr Pitcher, a well-known baritone; and Miss Flatt., accompanist. The party Avill be assisted by Foxton and local talent, the programme comprising humorous, vocal and instrumental items.
Last Aveek the above party gave a concert at Foxton, which the local paper states: “Was a most delightful one, the programme presented being most pleasantly varied, ranging from grave to gay, from lively to severe/ ’
