SCIENTISTS AMONG PARTY. "There is great interest in American sporting circles in the big game fishing round New Zealand,” writes Mr Alma Baker from San Francisco. "These waters bid fair to become the most famous in the world. “Zane Grey will head another expedition to the Antipodes in 1927, which will be called the Zanc GreyAlma Baker New Zealand Expedition. The purpose will be a fulfilment of the pioneering expedition of 1926, ■ which was a sporting and scientific one to demonstrate the wonderful nature of New Zealand’s fishing waters. •‘Among, the members of the 1927 expedition will be scientists who will study oceanology, secure and classify specimens of hitherto unknown species, study currents, reefs and fish-food conditions. “The game fish will bo studied from the North .Cape to the Bay of Plenty. The party will also include expert motion picture operators and other photographers. “Tho fishermen of the party will consist of Zane Grey. C. Alma Baker, Captain L. R. Mitchell, R. E. Grey (brother of Zane Grey) and Romcr Grey, Zane Grey’s oldest son. “Zane Grey will take to Now Zealand as mother ship, his well-known three-masted Nova Scotian schooner, the Fisherman, which will carry four speedy motor-launches for work outside of New Zealand waters. A special effort will be made to establish facts and give the' sporting world the benefit thereof. It is hoped that a most detailed sporting and educational film will result from the expedition.’’
