INTERPROVINCIAL RUGBY.

MANAWHENUA v, WELLINGTON. On Saturday next at the Palmers-ton-Showgrounds, the last interprovincial match of the season will be staged, and will be of a very high standard, especially! as the Manawatu —Horowhenua team has so far this year not been defeated. Their record to date shows that they are undoubtedly a very formidable combination, and will take a power of beating, as the Hawkes Bay team found out, when they last visited this Union, the match ending in a draw—--14 points being the total of each side, after a great battle. The next victims were Taranaki, who up till meeting the Manawhenua side had not been defeated. After a sterling match on J their own land their colours were lowered by 8 points .to 6. Next came the River City representatives, who played the game of their lives, but Manawhenua was too good and left Wanganui a defeated side by 11 points to 3. The Empire City team always carries the reputation of being a great side, and reports received state they intend to send to Palmerston North their best available players, in an endeavour to break the Manawhenua record. This being so, a great mateh is-certainly in store for all lovers of Rugby'. Manawhenua will enter upon the field, with the same, dash and combination that they displayed against the previous contestants. It behoves all supporters to roll up in great force, and encourage Manawhenua to victory, "for if this match is won an early challenge for the Ranfurly Shield will be made for this year.

The Railway Department lias delayed the last, train from 'Palmerettm North until 5.20 p.m. so all patrons will have plenty of time after the match. For the "early birds" who desire to secure the good seats, a curtain raiser between Manawatu and Wanganui Junior has been arranged, which will prime up patrons for the great event.
