LURE OF BIG FISH
RETURN OF MR ZANE GREY. The date of Mr Zane Grey’s arrival in New Zealand for further deep-sea fishing is made known m a letter received by a friend in Auckland. Mr Grey will leave California on December 29, and will arrive in Wellington on January The yacht, Fisherman, which he will use here, will sail about the beginning of November, arriving before its owner. Referring to his exploit with tl giant, broadbill he recently landed, -Mr Grey says: “The other day caught the greatest' broadbill ever landed. You can bet I was happy. Tho son-of-a-gun nearly killed me. The lure of the big game fish is further revealed in a letter receive from Tientsin, North China. The writer spent some time in New Zealand, and has evidently found this country to his liking. An extract from his letter reads: “The copy of the Big Game Fish number of the ‘Auckland Weekly News’ reached me by the last mail. Tho photographs are excellent, and the results obtained by the Zane Grey party will no doubt attract sportsmen from all over tlie world to try their hand on the big fish. The 9761b ‘swordy’ makes our catches last year look insignificant. “I certainly enjoyed my experience on the fishing grounds, in fact, I enjoyed my visit to New Zealand so much that we are making plans to make the Dominion our home in future. We believe Auckland would suit us, as we find the warmth and sunshine so necessary after having lived so long in this country.”
