ROAD CYCLE RACING.
PALMERSTON TO. WELLINGTON. A well attended meeting of the Wellington ’Centre, the controlling body of •amateur athletics in Wellington, was held on Tuesday last, when the Palmerston North to Wellington road race programme was discussed. The committee in charge Qf the prize list reported the receipt of donations to the value ofe£97 12s. This information was received with great enthusiasm by the meeting, several speakers paying complimentary remarks to the men in charge of the trophy list. Full arrangements Avere made as to feeding stations which it is proposed to locate at Levin, Otaki, foot of Packaka riki hill and Porirua, at which places riders Avill be able to obtain raisins, chocolate, Bovril or hot milk.' These statipns will be controlled by representatives of the various districts and should go a long Avay towards making the race a success. The starting time of the race is set. down at half-past seven in the morning from Palmerston North, which should allow the first rider to arrive in Wellington at about half-past three in the afternoon.;
