“CUT OUT THE OPEN CUT-OUT.”
NOISY MACHINES CONDEMNED
The fortnightly committee nietting of the Wellington Motor and Cycle Sports Club Avas held on Wednesday night when the chairman (Mr. E. A. Rodgers) mo\ r ed that a special effort be made to endeavour to stop the unpleasant practice of a small percentage of riders who allowed their motor-cycles to make unnecessary noise. This motion Avas seconded by Mr. Foothead, and discussed at length by t-lie committee. It was realised that the riders who Avere causing the trouble Avero only few in number, but they were making it unpleasant for the majority, Avho desired that motor-cyclists should be more favourably received by the general public. It was decided to place suitable notices in the club room, and make every effort to suppress the unpleasant practice of riding Avith straight-out exhaust pipes and open cut-outs. ‘‘Cut out the open cut-out” was in be the slogan of the campaign.
