“THE KNOCK-OUT.”
MILTON SILLS IN FINE NEW ROLE. A motion picture beat, described by its title, “The Knockout.” “The Knock-out,” which will be shown at the Maoriland Theatre on Wednesday, is the screen version of M. D. c/ Crawford’s stirring novel of a prize fighter's romance in tlie Canadian woods. Milton Sills, as the star, finds considerably more opportunity for a display of virile action than in any picture he has appeared in since “The Sea iMwk.” Romance, heart interest, c-Ctaedy, and thrills all are combined in this story of rugged red-blooded manhood. It reveals a modern “Gentleman Jim” type .of pugilist who-goes into the big t i inker country to recuperate from an injury. Hes experiences adventures that make his ring career seem tame by comparison. Dramatic realism is the keynote on which the picture was made. In order that the background might be true to life in the woods, the Canadian Government- Motiorr-Picture Bureau offered ail its re,so-urcesMo. Hudson during the making of this picture.
The outdoor scenes, which comprise more than 50 per cent, of the picture,! were taken in the logging districts of the Ottawa River, both on the Ottawa and Quebec sides. Thrilling fight scenes between Sills and a six-foot-seven adversary are among the headlight-s of the drama.
