“RECOMPENSE.”
Marie Prevest and Monte Blue costar in an adaptation of “Recompense,” Robert KeabTe’s masterly novel and scheduled for Friday evening at the Maoriland Theatre. In “Recompense,” the action shifts suddenly from the gay Paris of Armistice Day to the desolate miles of the veldts in Africa. Here Julie Gamelyn. a nurse in the South African Brigade, meets again with Peter Graham, an Army chaplain, and here the drama comes to its poignant climax.
