MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING, Tlie weekly meeting of the Management ComnnUee of the Horowlienua Hugi>y District Council was heiu last evening,! Mr J. J. O’Connor ing. Messrs Robinson, McDonald, Emmett, Casey, Procter, Austin, Hannan, Hobson, Brann and Neville and Winiata were also present. Apologies lor.absence were accepted from Messrs Lynch and Rlnmier. EIGIITING FOOTBALLERtS. Mr W. H. Rhodes reported having ordered off two players, J. Huff and , R. Broughton, during the Weraroa- ■ Foxton juniors matcn on Saturday. Broughton, who appeared before the committee, Is to stand down on Saturday, while Hull is suspended until lie appears before the committee. JUNIOR HEP GAMES. It was decided to play a Maori-Pa-keha junior rep. match, the date to he decided upon later. In connection with the recent discussion relative to rep. games in the lower grades, the management committee have resolved to appoint selectors for each of the cluhs therein. GENERAL. There will be no games on tlie 7th August on which date the Combined Union meets Hawkes Bay at Palmerston. Mr W. Hannan was appointed manager for the team to play Bush Union on July 14th. PRIMARY SCHOOL FOOTBALL. At a meeting of Horowlienua Primary School teachers some weeks ago a move was made to organise a Primary Schools’ Rugby Football competition. The response was most encouraging, six schools entering teams. The positions of the teams in the competition are as follow: — Played. Won. Lost. Pts.
On Saturday next Levin D.H.S. plays Ohau at Prouse’s Paddock, at 10.30. Otaki plays Ivoputaroa-Poroutawhao at Weraroa at 10.30 a.m., while Foxton D.H.S. plays Shannon at Shannon. i A spirit worthy of praise is that shown by the Koputaroa-Poroutawhao team who, having no ground of their own, and unable even to raise a full team, yet travel every Saturday to meet their opponents It is proposed to play later, a schools rep. match, North v. South, followed
