MAD BULL SHOT DEAD IN STREET
, CROW OS IN PANIC An exciting chase of a mad buli provided a Wile West thrill for hundreds of people at Barry. When the fi • nzied beast escaped from the railway station yard people had to clamber over rail lines and rush into houses to avoid the animal in its mad career. A police officer fired several revolver shots but accurate shooting was difficult owing to the quick movements of the animal. One bullet grazed its head, but this only made it more infuriated, and maddened by pain and fright, it careered down the street. A woman pedestrian climbed a lamp post for safety, and afterwards collapsed. The bull lung'd into a milk float, upsetting several churns of milk, and eventually a corporation lorry was commandeered and transformed into a sort of armoured car. From this, after a brief chase, several shots were fired close range by Mr. Mark, a pork butcher. One shot hit the bull in the head, causing it to roll over. It was then put out of its misery.
