LAKE COLERIDGE EXTENSIONS.

READY FOR THE POWER. CHRISTCHURCH, May 31. Yesterday marked the completion of the construction work for the extension of the Lake Coleridge hydroelectric scheme as a result of which an additional 15,000 kilowatts of power will shortly he available for the use of the people of Canterbury. Water from, tire Lake has not yet been turned into the new tunnel and the new generators are not running, bat the civil engineering branch of the Public Works Department has completed its share of the work and handed over the job in good order and condition to the electrical branch. The total cost of the extension is about £350,000.
