CHINESE VAUDEVILLE.
The latest theatrical company to visit these parts is the Lee Tchmig Foo Co., which will appear at the Maoriland Theatre -«ii Tuesday mgnt under the direction of James Teddy, late of J. C. Williamson, Ltd. Chinese vaudeville is Tare in New Zealand and except for Long Tack Sam's visit, it is many years since a combination of artists like the Lee Tehung Foo 'Go. has been on tour. It has been described as a galaxy of intenrational stars and the repertoire includes magic, conjuring, juggling, gymnastics, acrobatics, wiater-spinn'ing, platespinning, Chinese novelties, dancing, and music. Mademoiselle 11. Reguier, direct from Paris and late of J. C. Williamson's leading theatres, is with the company donng -Continental character songs in pretty broken English and her saxaphone numbers are reported to be above anything heard in that line before. Mdlle. Regnier is a decided beauty and has won numerous beauty contests and her frocking is the envy of every woman who sees her. The athletic act by Lee Tchung Foo is nothing short of wonderful, and any attempt a,t- description must fail;.it must be seen to be believed. He snuffs matches with his feet while held ten feet in the air, he jumps over high fences and si\ chairs, he does fancy jumps, each one a masterpiece. He has the uniquedistinction of "top-ping- the bill" in Barnum and Bailey's Circus in U.S.A., which comprises nothing but star acts.
