AN INCREASE SHOWNCensus returns Toir. Horowhenua County have now been completed by the enumerator, Mr B. Magee, and the population for the entire County is shown below, each riding being itemised:— Ridings. Males. Females-. Total

Tlie total European population of the Horowhenua County, exclusive of boroughs, is 5693, comprising 3261 males and 2432 females.' Compared With the total recorded at the time of 1921 census of 5397, this year's statistics disclose, a net European increase iof 296—practically 5| per cent. The population of Horowhenua County, together with the boroughs of Shannon, Levin and Otaki (coming within the County boundary) aggregates 10,467, .exclusive of Maoris. At the previous census Hie figures stood at 9464 which, therefore, indicates ah increase in population of 1003 in Horowhenua, inclusive of the ■three boroughs mentioned. DWELLINGS.
