POSITION OF TEAMS.

The following table indicates the position of the teams in the senior competition. Owing to County B’s Withdrawal after taking part in two games, each team has been credited with a win against them with the exception of Foxton and Hui Mai, who have wins against County B, the latter by default:—

FOOTBALL.

SHANNON v. WERAROA JUNIORS. The above game was played on Saturday at the Shannon Domain before, a fair gathering of spectators. A stiff breeze was blowing and the .rain that set- in during the second spell niade things uncomfortable, not only for the players, but the onlookers. A grandstand or a shelter of some description is much needed at the Domain. Play commenced with Shannon playing with the wind at their backs and it was apparent they intended making the first spell a last one. Early in the game, however, the local team were penalized, Broughton being successful with the kick. From the kick off Shannon forwards carried the ball into the danger zone, and the back division securing the leather enabled Moore to- score. Picard’s kick at goal was unsuccessful. Shannon kept up the -offensive, and looked on several occasions like scoring. Satlierley during a splendid run being forced otut within a couple of feet from the line. On turning round Weraroa with the wind in their favour forced flip pace, and from a .forward rush Phillips scored. The game ended Weraroa 6, Shannon 3. Mr Peters carried the whistle.

Play generally was of a ragged description and from a spectators point -of view the game was uninteresting. The local teairrt could not get going and lacked decision!
