GOLF NOTES.
OPENING OF THE SEASON. NEXT SATURDAY. The local Golf. Club intends opening its season and its new course on Saturday hex-t when all new members, intending members and others interested are cordially invited to be present. Invitations have been sent- to neighbouring clubs, and given a fine afternoon a very enjoyable outing is promised to exponents -of the game. Play will commence -early, about 1 p.ni., and the first round -of nine holes will be in. the form-of mixed foursomes, Canadian tournament., for which trophies are -offered for thewinners. Foursomes will be. made tip as the players arrive, and be despatched as quickly as possible in order to make room for others following. Notwithstanding, the newness of the course the greens are already in -splendid order and the groundsman is to be congratulated upon the very efficient manner he has arranged matters.
