LEVIN SALEYARDS.
FAIR, AVERAGE YARDING. There was a moderate yarding in each section Tuesday’s sale, quality being of an average order with prices in keeping. Sheep did not create a very (brisk demand. To-day’s quotations included the following prices: Shee-p.—Fat' ewes 20s, fat wethers 25s 6d, medium shorn lambs 11s, hoggets 14s 4d, lambs 10s 5d to 17s. Pigs.—Weaners 9s to 145,. porkers £2 7s, bacon-ers £2 10s to £3 15s, light porkers 295, medium ditto- £2 5s to £2 9s. .
Cattle—Fat cows £4 4s to £4 7s, P.A. cows £6\los, forward cows £2 17s to £3 13s, stores 27s 6d to 335, cow and calf £3 10s.
STOCK REPORT
The N.'Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report, as follows, on yesterday’s sale in the Levin saleyards:— Pigs.r-Good weaner pigs 12s, store pigs 15s 6d to 265, light ipoirkers £2 4s to £2 7s 6d, heavy do. £3, baconers light £3 10s, medium £3 15s, heavy £4 7s. Sheep.—Aged breeding . ewes 15s, small 2-tooth wethers 17s, cull lambs 7s 2d to 8s 6d, medium 13s 7d. Cattle.— Medium fat cows £4 10s to £5 12s 6d, forward" condition cows £2 10s to £3 15s, store cows 30s to £2 58, bulls 30s to £5 12s 6d, weaner heifers 12s. Messrs Dalgety and Co., lid., report a fair yarding of all classes at Levin, Sale on Tuesday last. Prices were unchanged and the bulk of the yarding was sold at auction: Quotations:—Fat ewes 20s, fat wethers 25s 6d, fat cows £3 10s, £4, £4 7s, to £5, forward cows £3 2s to £3 10's, store cows 28s to 36s 6d, porkers £2 7s, baconers £3 10s, weaner pigs 9s 6d to 14s.
