Preparations are well in liand for Sunday next, wiien the Anzac Memorial Service takes place. The service will begin sharp at 10 a.m., at thecenotaph if fine, and if wet, will be held at the hall. His Worship the Mayor invites all to be present. The Levin Band will lead the singing of the hymns, which are to be wellknown tunes, viz., St. Anne, Rockingham -and Mehta. The Rev. Mr Farnell will give the addrasis and Bandmaster Lester will sound the Last Post. The returned men will meet- at- the school at 9 a.m. and will march to the cenotaph, headed by the Band. A function will take place at tire school at 9 a.m., when' the school will be assembled and the R.S.A. of Levin will present a magnificent picture of “The Landing of the Anzacs,” and a. suitable - address will be given.

A SUGGESTION. (To the Editor.) Sir,—ln Tuesday’s issue of the “News” there appeared a notice from His Worship the Mayor, intimating that “Anzac Service” will be held at the .Cenotaph at 10 o’clock on Sunday morning. The time of service could not be more opportune; as it affords an opportunity to the large number of people likely to be present on the occasion, and not usually astir so early on the Sunday morning, of thereafter attending religious services at 11 o’clock in the various'churches Since, by this time, the census schedules have been filled up and column 16 on the white schedule not left blank, I suggest that all those who have made profession of their religion this way, quietly make their way to the respective church to which they have claimed to belong,, after Anzac Service is over, thus honouring their religion, and likewise the brave Anzacs, who for us were faithful unto death. Trusting that this suggestion may be acted upon and thanking you for space, in your valuable “News.”—l am. etc,, CHURCHMAN.
