MUTTON MARKET VERY BUOYANT. SOUND SMM FOR ALL FAT CATTLE CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. There /were many entries, but a keen sale for all classes at Adding-ton to-day. Good store ewes» improved in value, as did fat lambs, while other classes of stock maintained late rates. Store sheep.—Another very heavy yarding, comprising for the most part North Island ewes, the quaiity of Which, however, was much better. In spite of the heavy entry, there was a t remarkably good clearance. Poverty Bay six-tooth ewes made to. S7s 6d : and two-tooth 35s to 36s 6d; forward rape lambs 22s 6d to 255; medium 20s to 225, small 17s 6d to 19s 6d, inferior, 16s to 17s; halfbred ewe lambs 26s -to 30s 3d; crossbred ewe lambs 24s 6d to 26s 6d; two-tooth Romney cross ewes, 30s to 30s; small twotooth Romney cross ewes 34s to 37s Cd; four, six and eight-tooth crossbred ewes, 18s to 31s; low - conditioned tour, six and eight-tooth ewes, 22s 6d to 265; failing-mouthed halfbred ewes, 22s to 275, sound-mouthed halfbred ewes, to Sis 3d: two-toothed i halfbred wethers, 26s to 28s <ld; four, ' six and eight-tooth wethers, 23s to 265. Fat lambs. —A heavy entry of 4000 head. Values were a shade in advance of export gales. Extra prime iambs made to 34s lOd; prime heavy 80s 'to 32s 9d; medium-weight. 28s 6d to 31s, light and inferior. 25s 9d . to 27s 9d, store lambs, 24s to 25s ca. Fat sheep.—A iarge entry and little difference from last. week. Offerings were bought freely at fh 6 schedule prices. Extra prime wethers fetched to 40s Id; prime, 34s to 36s 6d; medium, 30s to 33s "8d; light. 26s to 29s 6d; extra prime ewes, to 34s Ad: prime, 26s to 295; medium, 22s 3d to 25s 3d; light, 19s to 225, aged 12s 6cl to 18a. Fat cattie.,—A heavy entry of 600 head, the bulk being good to prime beef. Last week's high rates were scarcely maintained, but the was a sound one, particularly in view or the heavy entry. Best beef made from 41s to 445; secondary, 36s to 40s, extra heavy steers, £l9 to i2l 12s, 6d;. heavy, £ls 10s to £l7 10s; prime medium weight, £l4 to £l7; lower grades £8 to £l3; extra prime heifers," to £l4 2s 6d, prime, £0 10s to ■■£l2; others, £5 to £9; extra prime cows to £l4 7s 6d; prime cows, £8 18s 6(1 to £ll ss; others, £4 to 18. Store cattle.—A few odd steers,
with some pens of young- cattle of nixed breeds and potters' cows comprised the yarding. For the young cattle-there was a very sound demand. C4ood steers made £8 to £9 10s; inferior sorts, £i to £7; best cows, £2 5s to £3; rough, 25s to £2. Vealers had a good sale for quality atuff, but other sorts were hard to quit. Good ruriners sold up to £6 10s; others to £5. Dairy cattle.—A .small entry. Some Jersey cross heifers at the drop sold at tip to £l6 15s. '■ Fat pigs.—A l:i;avj' entry and a Sood sale. Porkers went, for. 48s to 70s (average ptipe per lb. B ld to Old); baconers, £3 15s to £C" t Ss (average per lb. .sd .to .ad) • Store pigs.- Previous values were unchanged. Weaners made 5s to tss; slips, 14s to 18s;.stores, 20s to 50s.
