FATS ADVANCE AT ADDINGTON.
LiEm DEMAND FOR ALL .SECTIONS. CHRISTCHUBCH, Last Night. The Addington market lor fat stock advanced in price to-day, particularly tor fat cattle, on account of the reduced entry. There was a big yarding of store sheep, .comprising mostly ewes from the North Island. Store Sheep.—Good class ewes sold at up. to .previous rates, but most of the North Island ewes, which dominated the section, sold slackly, some ewe lambs being the exception. The adult northern ewes were of poor quality. Forward Lambs.—Wethers sold briskly, but medium lambs were harder to quit. Forward rape lambs made 22s to 24s 6d; medium) 1 l'9s to 21s 6d; small, 17s to 18s 6d; inferior, 15s to 16s 9d; halfbred ewe lambs, 25s to 28s Id; crossbred ewe lambs, 24s 6d to 26s 6d; two-toothed threequarter ewes, 28s 6d to 335; cull twotoothed three-quarter-bred ewes, 24s to 27s 6d; four, six and eight-toothed Eomney ewes, 28s 6d to 31s; four, six and eight-toothed crossbred ewes, 25s to 28s; low conditioned four, six and eight-toothed crossbred ewes, 20s to 235; failing-mouthed crossbred ewes, 18s toi 22s 6d; four and five-year-old jhalfbred ewes, 23s 6d to 27s 6d; fail-ing-mouthed lialfbred ewes, 18s 6d to 235; four- six and eight-toothed halfbred wethers, 23s 6d to 26s 6d; twotoothed halfbred wethers, 23s to 255; two and four-toothed halfbred wethers. 22s to 265. Fat Lambs.—There were 2100 entries and a keen sale at up to schedule rates took place. Price*: Bid to lOd for 42-36's; extra heavy lambs, to 33s lOd; prime heavy, 29s 6d to 325; medium-weight, 28s t<* 30s 6d; inferior, 25s 6d to 27s 9d; store, 23s to '2ss. • Fat Sheep.—An average entry and a keen sale, the best classes being above export rates. ' The advance on last week's price was from Is to a head. Extra prime wethers fetched up to 40s id; prime, 33s 6d to 365; medium, 30s to 335; light, 26s to 29s 6d; extra prime ewes, up to <J4B 7d; medium, 22s to 255; light, 18s 6d to 21s 6d; aged, 13s to 18s.
Fat. Cattle— 340 head came forward, over 100 fewer than the average. Values were up by 30s to 40s a head for all good-class stuff. Choicest beef made UP to 46s a lOOlbs, good prime 40s to 445; heavy beef, 37s 6d to ,ias Cd medium, 34s to 375; and rough down to 23s 6d.
