SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT. ■ On Saturday, local football enthusiasts had a taste of the -popular winter pastime, eleven teams taking 1 the field in a seven-a-side tournament. At times during the various games, there were glimpses of form shown, indicative of some good games during the next few months. The games were played in seven minute spells, allowing one minute for the change-over, the finals being played in 10-minute spells. Results as follows: — SENIOR.—FIRST ROUND. County A 9 v. County B 3. Wanderers 3 v. Weraroa 0. '■ FII^AiL. , Countv''A 6v. Wanderers 3. JUNIOR.—FIRST ROUND. Weraroa 13 v. Shannon 5. Wanderers a bye. FINAL. Werar-oa 9 v. Wanderers 3. THIRDS.—.FIRST ROUND. Foxton A'i 2.1 v. Weraroa 0. Foxton B 6 v. Shannon 5. FINAL. Foxton A 15 v. Foxton R 0. SENIOR final: County A. v. Wanderers.— County won the toss, and with the wind at their backs, immediately took the offensive, but fumbling with the ball saw many chances go- -begging. Williams, playing on the wing for Wanderers, carried play upheld, and from a scramble on County's line Tatana shot over. His kick failed, and the Blacks were three points up. After the change over the Blacks attacked, and Carpenter had a clear run .in -but lack of condition saw him fall into touch. Palmer, playing well for County, raced - upheld in possession, until well brought down by Ryder. From a centering kick, Warren gained possession, and, passing out nicely to Broughton, sent that player over to equalise. ■Time was up with the score 3 all, so extra time was played. No sooner had play been in motion, than MacDonald finished off a nice passing movement by streaking over to put his side in the lead, and the game finished immediately. Referee: Mr J. Smith.

JUNIOR FINAL. Weraroa 9 v. Wanderers 3.—Play started off at a great pace in this game, but slackened off considerably after ’ a few minutes had gone by. Weraroa were the first to open their account, R. Cole charging down a re--1 lieving kick, raced on to score in a handy position. Bull’s kick failed. The Blacks equalised shortly after making the score 3 all. Weraroa took up the attack after the change over, and the hall came out to R- Cole,, who showed a clean pair o'f heels to the opposition, and scored - under the posts. The kick failed. Bull then scored and Weraroa filed off winners by 9 to 3. Referee: Mr Emmett. THIRDS FINAL. Foxton . A 15 v. Foxton B. o.—ln this match the A’s were much too co-od for the B’s, and soon rattled up 15 points, in: fact, the Foxton boys provided the best football of the ■ afternoon, giving a good exhibition of .straight running and combination. Mr R Kingi refereed and was hard put to "it to keep up with the fleetfooted Foxton boys.
