BABY CARNIVAL.

CLOSES TO-NIGHT. The Baby ■.Carnival which commenced four weeks ago to raise funds for ■the local branch of the Plunket Society, closes this evening. The final result will ibe announced ait the crowning ceremony. which will take place in the Maoriland Theatre on Wednesday afternoon at 3.15 p.m. (Prior to the ceremony a procession of decorated baby carriages of the three candidates, accompanied iby their attendants, will leave the iPost Office at 3 p.m. and proceed to the ■ Maoriland Theatre where the crowning ceremony will be performed by the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs EL Butt). At the conclusion of the ceremony musical items will he rendered and the names of the winners of competitions will be announced.
