LYTTELTON HOTEL BURNT.

CHRISTGHURICH, March 32. The Mitre Hotel a,t Lyttelton was burned; this morning. The building was fifty years old and when the flcumes were discovered it wag impossible, for the Brigade to effect a save. The wife of the licensee had to foe assisted down the fire escape. Two ouier Women escaped in their night a tire. The insurance was £2OOO on ttw building in the Phoenix and £I3OO on the furniture and stock in the Soiuth British.
