A meeting of the Horowhenua A. and P Association was held last night in connection with the Queen Carnival Canvassers were appointed and alloted areas from Paekakariki to Tokomaru, to canvass the district for donations in cash or in kind. The proposition of the Levin Combined Sports and the Horowhenua A. and P Association holding a joint carnival hazaar was discussed fully ami the feeling was that a joint .effort here would meet with greater success than, individual efforts. Representatives from both bodies to co-operate and canvass the district together. The following resolution was then passed: That the Executive of this Association to meet the executive of the Combined Sports Bodies to discuss the advisability of a joint carnival toazaar. A joint canvass of the district to be undertaken on the basis that all produce be pooled in the. Bazaar—cash donations to go to the respective bodies as indicated (by the donors. All stock to go to the Horowhenua A and P Association. Messrs H. J. Richards and J. Logan were appointed to arrange publicity for the Association s effort.
